A foundation of consistent content creates the know like and trust factor that makes users more engaged and encourages new visitors to your profile
Consistent content is the key to being consistent on Instagram and consistent with your Instagram account. The more consistent your content, the more likely you are to grow your following. It’s as simple as that!
There are many different types of content that can be used on Instagram.
You can create pictures, stories, lives, 60-sec videos, infographics, reels, or carousels. What I tell my clients is to focus on at least 1 form of video. That could be creating reels, going, live, or creating micro-videos under 60 seconds for your feed. Then choose one more content type on Instagram and just stick to those two. You’ll find it easier to manage consistency in posting rather than trying to create every type of content format permitted on the platform.
But remember that consistent content is king no matter what platform you are on! You need consistent content on Instagram in order to have a positive effect on your Instagram profile.
Here are four ways to stay consistent on Instagram
- Define your content pillars. These are the pillars that define your consistent content on Instagram. Some examples of content pillars can be your brand story, client testimonials/stories, your products or services.
- Decide your posting times. Decide when you’re going to post consistent content so you can be consistent with your posts. For example, I post three times per week; typically Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays. However I have noticed my best days for reach are Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Post consistently each week on the same days! Draft consistent content. This consistent content should be consistent with your website and consistent on Instagram. A creative brief can help you define consistent content that matches both of these things.
- Batch your content! Batch content that you have created to cut down your workload. I typically set aside Tuesdays for content creation, specifically video content. I will batch it up and schedule it for the rest of the week so I don’t have to create content every day!
- Stick to one or 2 content types to avoid burnout. As I mentioned before, I always advise my clients to focus on at least 2 content formats. Typically, Instagram Reels are the obvious first choice, and lives, or stories. I prefer lives as they can be repurposed to your Instagram feed as a content type that continues to be evergreen.
These four consistent content practices will help you grow your following and if you’re consistent then you will increase the visibility of your Instagram profile and gain a following very quickly!
