Don’t panic trying to find the best marketing strategies during covid. I’m sure you have plenty of downtime during #socialdistancing?
Here are four marketing strategies you can do during covid to keep your business going and the conversations flowing:
Four Marketing Strategies During COVID for business owners
Marketing Strategies During COVID #1 Update your website
Have your hours, availability or offerings changed? Make sure your customers know! I was laid off from my day job amidst coronavirus. But before then I had specific hours for my agency. Now that I am working full time and actually picking up new clients even through this pandemic I had to change my hours. Business hours went from 8am to 10am and 4pm to 7pm to 9am to 5pm Monday through Thursday. Fridays the agency is open 9am to 3pm.
However, many businesses are having to change their hours of operation as well as products and services offered during this time.
Similarly, if you’ve done something like a transition to virtual sessions and consultations, or if you’ve ramped up your take-out or curbside pickup offerings, make sure this information is front and center and above the fold on your website.
Marketing Strategies During COVID #2 Audit your social media content
Likewise, you’ll want your social media feed to reflect the updates on your website. Your social media pages should reflect the most accurate and up-to-date information.
Go through your content library and update any time-sensitive or event-related content as needed. Again, make sure you’re spreading the news about your availability and any changes to how you’re serving your customers.
And remember you still want to be reaching your customers and growing your audience on social media. Depending on the industry you’re in, you might need to shuffle around your editorial calendar. One thing’s for sure people still need your products, and they still need your services. Even if that’s not true for you today, it will most certainly be true when things have normalized.
Even if you cannot or choose not to focus on sales right now, it is the right time to keep your brand active on social media. Make sure you are constantly having conversations on social media. This is one of the most important marketing strategies your business should practice so that you not only survive but thrive during this season.
Marketing Strategies During COVID #3 Review your analytics
You could just Netflix and #quarantine, or you could take an hour tonight and take a peek into your analytics. This is a much-needed marketing strategy that business owners overlook. If you outsource your marketing call up your marketing manager and go over your analytics to see what is working and what’s not. Marketing strategies such as reviewing analytics are strategies that can not and should not be overlooked.
Marketing Strategies During COVID #4 Brush up on social media strategy
According to The CMO Survey, as we move completely online we are seeing brands increasing their marketing budgets. Whether you hire a marketer to run your social or do it yourself consider brushing up on social media. By using social media and creating strategies for customer retention you can experience this strategy to increase your customer retention rate by 54.3%.
